The Floating Guide

First Float Info

Please make sure you have checked you are able to float before you arrive. You can find details about this here.

If it is your first time floating, you will be given a full induction by a knowledgeable member of our team. They will give you a demonstration of how the pod and its various features work. We will answer any questions you have and offer you a tour around our facilities.

We suggest 3 floating sessions within a few weeks of each other to start with. The first and second floats you are usually getting used to your surroundings, by the third it feels familiar and you can really relax and feel the benefits.

Floatation sessions last an hour. An hour and a half is given for each session to allow time for showering pre and post float. Sessions take place in your own pod, in your own room, with your own shower.

Your Float Session

– Before Your Float –

Try to avoid stimulants like caffeine before your float – this will help you to relax.

Do not shave or wax on the day of your float – this could cause skin irritation.

We don’t wear shoes inside to keep everything clean and comfy, you can go bare foot or bring some indoor shoes or flip flops to wear.

Have a small snack or wait a few hours if you’ve had a big meal – you don’t want to be distracted by being too full or hungry!

Being on time for your appointment is perfect, no need to be early.

– During Your Float –

We ask people to shower first and then enter the pod – usually in nothing but your own skin (although swim wear can be worn if preferred – don’t forget a bag to put it in afterwards).

You will hear music for the first 10 minutes of your float. This is to help guide you into a place of tranquil relaxation. The rest of your float session is spent in blissful silence, until the 5 minutes of music at the end. We can talk to you about other options for music if you don’t like silence.

We recommend you turn the lights off to maximise the experience. However, there is a light which you are welcome to use and is completely within your control from the inside of the pod.

There are ear plugs and petroleum jelly (to cover any cuts) available.

– After Your Float –

We provide shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in our beautiful walk in showers, as well as soft towels. We have built time in to each booking for you to enjoy a shower after your float.

Head upstairs to the Styling Room afterwards, then chill out in the relaxation room with tea and sorbet or head home but make sure you enjoy some you time!

The facilities are thoroughly cleaned between each float. The water in the pod goes through a state of the art UV filtration system. This ensures a completely clean and sanitary environment for every user. We are also cleaning all touch points between each appointment.
